I'm planning to buy BenQ Xl2720Z. It has 1/ms response time and 144 hz refresh rate. Is it good for gaming for fast action games like NFS or CoD. My console is a PS4.

An 144Hz monitor on ps4 is wasted, a console never produces so many fps (they usually operate at 30 or 60 fps according to the game played).
I suggest to buy a good IPS instead. For a 27 intch IPS, I suggest the LG 27MP35HQ.

The XL2720Z is fine for a console but it will be limited to HDMI only output (consoles can only output hdmi to monitors) and 60hz refresh rate. You can go into the service menu and unlock the "Single Strobe" option and then use blur reduction at 60hz refresh rate on your console, for 60 fps/60hz blur free gaming, but you will have backlight flicker.
