So I am looking for a 1440p monitor for a decent price. I've come across two monitors that are both 1440p but one is IPS but smaller and the other is bigger but is TN.
Here is the bigger TN panel:http://geizhals.eu/acer-k2-k272hulbbmidp-um-hx2ee-b01-a1155211.html
And here is the smaller IPS:http://geizhals.eu/dell-professional-p2416d-a1252635.html

The IPS one is considerable cheaper as well. Is the extra 3 inches worth it over getting a worse display panel and the extra price premium, or just got the 24 inch IPS?

Solution
Yes 24" are small for 1440p for gaming.

The best gaming monitors are the Acer XB270HU for Nvidia gpus and Asus MG279q for AMD gpus. If you can afford them, look nothing less.

"Generally", you may be sort of right.
But I have two monitors right here where it is the opposite. HP IPS panel, and ASUS TN panel.

Each monitor must be looked at on its own merits, no matter what technology it is.

Go for IPS one buddy, just a liittle add on as "A calibration tool should be utilized to receive the full benefits of a IPS monitor: Spyder4Elite is recommended. Also, e-IPS and similar panels with only 6-bit support should be avoided if you do any photo editing or use software that requires accurate color representation. e-IPS (and some AH-IPS) panels have better viewing angles than TN technology, but many of them are 6-bit displays that only support 8-bit color depth through a method of dithering (FRC), unlike other high-end IPS variations which make use of true 8-bit (or higher) LCD panels that can support a much larger gamut of colors"

Well I do a lot of gaming. I have the money to spend for a more expensive one, because if I do I'll probably buy a R9 Fury to go with it as well.
Won't 24 inches be a bit small for 1440p?
