I have had this card for about 3 years now. Just upgraded to a GTX 970 and honestly, this 580 still handles and performs close to the 970 in every day gaming performance, only in intense rendering do I see the 970 out perform. This is the 3GB version with a factory waterblock and backplate on it. Also it is a single slot card. Looking to sell for around 130-150 shipped as 1.5gb air cooled versions are selling for 120-130 on ebay. Only small thing to note is one side of threads is plastic and they are slightly worn so some of the thread is slowly coming off. It still works fine and with good fittings won't leak. I just pulled it out of my full loop last weekend.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, OP, but the GTX 970 is about 2.3 times faster than the 580 according to benchmarks... It IS, after all, 4 generations old now at this point.

Well then my 970 must suck because barely getting better frames per settings in games. In X-plane 10, probably the most demanding "game" you could play, I saw at most 7 fps improvements in the same settings.

Sounds like you have something else bottlenecking your system then. There's no reason you shouldn't get a MUCH larger increase in performance.

i7-2600k at 4.5ghz, 8gb of RAM, upgrading to 16. Only possibility is that 2600k doesn't support pci 3.0 but they've proven there is little to no difference on a single card between 3 and 2
