My budget is under $370 My dad is the only one who uses the computer and he only uses it for general web browsing, light office work, email, youtube and paying bills. I'm torn between an i3 4160 and the g3258 mostly because of the integrated graphics between the two. I plan on overclocking the g3258 with a hyper 212 evo that I have laying around.

What do you guys think...i3 or pentium? Is this psu poop? What would you change? maybe a kaveri build?

My main goal here: stupid fast single thread performance with a fast ssd.

personally id go mini itx, smaller, so less space needed for parts. with the right case your hyper 212 will still fit perfectly fine. with the money saved on a case, modded it to a samsung 850 128gb pro for even more blazing fast performance, while still sitting well under the budget.

I like your choice of the motherboard and case so much better. For the same price of the ssd, I could get an 850 250GB for even more storage for the os. It's a tossup for more storage capacity or the bumped up write speeds with the 850 pro. I'll have to think about it for a bit. Man...that case looks sweet.
