Hey guys! I have a couple of question...
I havea 750w psu and a i7 920 3.8ghz.I have also a gtx 680
should I buy a second one (would cost me max 250$ here in CA) or should I get a gtx 970 (400$ minimum) or a gtx 780 (400$ minimum).
I game at 1080p max and I am NOT PLANNING to get a 4k..

I don't see the issue here i mean two 680s are more powerful than a 970 but what i dont get i mean shouldn't 1 680 be more than enough at 1080p? I mean it is still a powerful card especially at 1080p anyways make sure to check if your mobo has spot for sli and that your slot is not covered. This isn't just worth it mate. You having issues with your current 680? Ok Here is my opinion. Either of the upgrade is stupid i mean for a 680 most of the modern games is a walk in the park especially at 1080p I would recommend you wait for the nvidia HBM to be released with their pascal tech next year so you can truly buy something that is worthwhile

Well to be honest a 680 Sli is more powerful than a 970 but a 970 is more advantageous than a 680sli. But If you are extremely eager i would recommend the 970
Reasons would - Less Heat , Power Consumption , Single Gpu Performance Increase, Directx 12_1, Newer Architecture, Resale of your your old 680.

If you can wait for the 970 competitor from amd. Coming up in a few months. According to Wccftech. If you are Insistent on the Nvidia. the upcoming 970 competitor will decrease the rate of the 970 without doubt for they are already cutting down the rate of the 980ti. And if you want future proof tech that. I recommend waiting a year i mean your gpu is perfectly capable as of now.
Next year Artic islands with Hbm2 from amd. Hbm will be there in pascal from nvidia. An Article if you have time to go through
