Server Specs: Web hosting or Game Server *Advice Needed*

Recently picked up a used server (1U) that I didn't pay too much for. I am looking to turn it into a small web server, or maybe host a couple game servers on it. Games to be hosted would be small servers for; Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Day of Defeat: Source, Team Fortress 2. I was also looking to make it into a web server to host a few websites that are low traffic. I have a datacenter lined up to take in the server and host for about $40-60 a month. I need some advice, as to what operating system I should place on this machine, any what I can really do with this box. I appreciate any comments, please don't beat me up too hard if the box is junk.
