Hey there, I am looking for the above CPU. If you have it, let's talk. Keep in mind I am not looking for SL9AP, but the later revision of the Pentium D 960 with lower power consumption and heat output. Thanks! :)

Why would you even want to buy a 2005 cpu? you could get a Core2Quad or first gen i3 or second generation i5 for 50-60 dollars depending on the processor

A core 2 duo is extremely cheap these days, 5 dollars-10 at the most, even a core 2 quad is about 30 bucks. I'm assuming it'd work since it's 775 socket as well.

for example, the cheap core 2 duo e6600 http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-D-960-vs-Intel-Core2-Duo-E6600

$3.19 with free shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-SL9ZL-Core-2-DUO-E6600-2-4GHz-4MB-1066MHz-Desktop-Processor-Socket-LGA775-/311402036143?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item488101fbaf

The Pentium D sucked when it came out a decade ago, it would be a big bottleneck today especially.

I'm very aware of the inefficiencies/inefficiencies and costs of Intel's lineup of CPU's. My particular case involves a motherboard that supports Celeron, Pentium 4, and Pentium D models. My dilemma is that my Windows 2000 machine utilizing my motherboard does not natively support Hyperthreading Technology on my Pentium 4 HT 672, but it does see the extra thread as a second CPU. However, I would rather have the best Pentium D this board can utilize, as it runs cooler, and I believe I have a better chance of not seeing system instability using a genuine dual core rather than making W2K try to utilize a fake core.
