I recently bought a new graphics card, a gigabyte gtx 550 Ti Windforce edition. So I went and replaced it with my old Sapphire Radeon HD5450 GPU. After booting up, I could only get one monitor to work (I have a dual setup). My native resolution is 1600x900 with my two Benq G2020HDA monitors. After boot, my resolution was 800x600 and was all messed up. After going to display properties and the device manager, I realized that my GPU wasn't being recognized and was refered to as ''Standard VGA graphics adapter''. I know that this happens when the pc can't find the appropriate drivers, so it gives the card the windows version of the driver. So I went and downloaded the newest driver available for my graphics card, which is 353,30 driver version, I started the install and shortly after the intaller failed saying ''Nvidia Installer Failed''. By then I got a bit more frustrated. I searched some other threads on Tom'Hardware and found some solutions that worked for other people, so I went and tried them. First thing I did was, I went to device manager and I tried to manually install the driver, and strangely, it succeeded. Windows displayed the message something like 'windows successfully updated the drivers. GPU Gtx 550 Ti. You need to restart the computer for the drivers to take effect'. BUT, after restart, still same 800x600 res, and it remained as standard vga adapter. Basically another one down the drain. My next attempt was deleting every possible file that had to do with either AMD or Nvidia with DDU(in safe mode), and then went to the official Gigabyte product page, and downloaded their driver for my specific card, which is a bit older, aprox version 280-ish. Tried through the Installer, failed, tried manually like before, says successful, after restart back to square one. I even found a third solution saying that I needed to instal the driver manually and THEN with the original installer, but that also failed. Oh and yeah, I tried the express instal and the custom preform a clean install and it all failed. I REALLY don't have a clue what else to try. I'm hoping I didn't bother you with such a long thread, but I would really appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance. This is my setup.

What power supply do you have, all power cables connected? Do a BIOS and chipset update on the motherboard if there is newer versions available.
Did you uninstall the AMD drivers before installing the nVidia card? If you did, run driver sweeper and try installing the AMD one again.
