What are some computer related projects besides building a pc?

I just built my first awesome gaming desktop a couple days ago and it got me interested in more computer related projects. I don't have 1500+ to blow every time I want to work on something so I need some cheaper projects. Any of you guys have suggestions?

Btw, this is my first post here. Been on this site many times but finally joined.
