3rd Party CPU?

Hello! I was just wondering the other day about AMD; do any of you think that since AMD and Intel allow 3rd party manufacturers to alter their GPU chips, some of AMDs problems could be solved by allowing the same to be done to their CPUs? Thanks!

I'm guessing you mean AMD and Nvidia?

They don't, really. The chips are all the same. It's the board (especially the VRMs) and cooling that are different.

It's pretty normal to buy a motherboard and cooler separate from the CPU, currently. If anything, this would be a step back.
