Upgrade RAM on Asus X58 Mobo

Hello,

My PC has the Asus Sabertooth X58 mobo with Corsair 2048 1600Mz 8-8-8-24 1.65v ver 3.1A DDR> Corsair 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Dominator Memory.

I want to add, say another 6gig as it has 3 more RAM slots but I cannot find the above RAM (uk) available.

Can anyone offer any advice on what to purchase or what is compatible please ?

Best bet would be to get a 3x4GB or 4x4GB set, mixing DRAM can be and often is problematic, especiall with older chipsets such as the X58

Thanks tradesman1, So basically just find some DDR3 (of any sort ?) and try for 16gig and totally replace old ram ?

That would be my approach, you can try mixing with the old but no guarantees - a good fit is the GSkill Ripjaws or Snipers
