HELP! need advice in motherboard/ram/cpu config

so i'm not sure if either getting: a 4790k, 16gb ddr3 ram and a x97, or a 5820k, 16gb ddr4 ram and a x99. The price difference isnt really as much as i thought, the 5820k being 390$ and the 4790k being 340$. Almost same with the others, the difference overall might be 150$ at best. So, is this really worth?

BTW: I'm using this for 1080p gaming, and the gpu is a 980ti.

The i7 4790k or even a i5 will work just fine for gaming. If you do not intend to overclock save yourself and get the Xeon 1231 v3. Also if you wait a few days Intel will be releasing new consumer end CPUs like the ones you are looking at and they will use DDR4 instead of DDR3. Read this too:
