So I just finished building my new pc... but im undecided if its finished. I want to get a 1440p monitor in the near future, perhaps towards xmas time. I currently have a 970 G1 Gaming in my pc.... my question is, whats best, SLI this GPU with another one of the same (got a good deal on the first one, only paid around £200) so around £450 for them both.... Meaning I could get my 1440p monitor a bit sooner

Or do I go all out, spend money I really know I shouldn't spend on a GTX 980 TI and wait longer to upgrade the monitor? If so, which gtx 980 ti should I get?

Ive heard there are problems with SLI sometimes which is putting me off it, but at the same time, im not sure I should spend the sort of money on a 980 TI, UNLESS It is really really worth it.....

Any help?

i7 4790 @ 3.6
G Skill Ripjaws 2133 8GB
Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 5
EVGA 850w supernova
not sure what else to write because im tired.

The 980 ti is worth it but ...If you can put up with any sli issues you may have, the 970's will give you great performance in 1440P for that price, it's about the same as the ti, some games it can be better.

I think I would go 970's if I was thinking about picking up a pascal high end card at the end of next year or mid year after. The 970's may last you till volta comes out, especially if they pool vram but if they don't pool it, you could run into problems in a couple years at 1440P.
