Hi,

I'm trying to find what would be the best suited motherboard that is socket AM3+ (thinking of using a FX8350) that would support 4-way CrossfireX, with the potential of being able to support 4-way Fury X in the future.

What would you say about the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX ?

I believe that I've settled on the Sabertooth, it has PCI-E 3.0 which makes it futureproof for a bit longer. Will just have to do 3 way crossfire instead of 4 way. 8350 surely wouldn't be a bottleneck, would it? If so I suppose a FX9xxx could be used instead.

The 9xxx series is just an 8320 factory OCed, get the 8320 and do the overclocking yourself, its the same results.
Do note, that with the money spent on the sabertooth, 8320 (or 9xxx series), plus the required cooling you could get an intel platform.

The 3250 actually has a higher clock and overclock than the 8320. 8350 @4.0/OC4.2 8320 @3.5/OC4.0

Sabertooth - $160
FX8350 - $154
Corsair Hydro H100i cooler (you could go cheaper and get enough cooling) - $104

i7-4790k - $340

Now you can see, without even looking into a motherboard and an aftermarket cooler for the i7, it's already taken up the cost of the motherboard and CPU combined from the AMD rig. While I'm not *really* trying to make a cost effective rig this time around, I have no need for an Intel CPU, as it's just spending the extra money for the sake of spending the extra money. I know the i7 would never give me any problems, but I also know the FX8350 wouldn't give me any problems either - especially because I'd have both of them on some sort of aftermarket cooling solution.

All 8xxx or 9xxx series processors are 8320 base chips, from then on they are overclocked by the factory. They are the same chip.
You can get an i5 4590 and a 4-way SLI capable motherboard for 190+200.
