Will this monitor be able to display 1980x1080 decently, as well as 2560x1440?

I have heard some nice things about this monitor

I was wondering, if my GPU (390X) Won't be able to run some games at 1440p, would 1080p be ok on it?

Yes, 1080p should be just fine. You may notice some aliasing, but that is always a problem when upscaling images by non-integer factors.

You would probably be better off turning your graphics settings down a touch before turning your display resolution down. The quality hit of running a monitor at something other than its native resolution would probably be far more dissatisfying. You would basically be generating a bunch of 3x3 pixel grids, then displaying them on 4x4 pixel areas. The result is not too pretty.
