*Fresh Install: Windows 10 PRO 64 Full System Lockup/Crashing

Hello,


My build is unstable and I need some help please,

I upgraded... 1st time around and it was for the most part stable. I had some lag issues; when system was left to idle, system would not respond or the system would take forever to perform tasks, and hardware install issues; plug and play pick up and drop. Couple of blues Screens, I run a custome build over clocked and it is my first one so I expected this to happen.

So I decided to do a clean install

Wish I had not.

System Specs (BUILD):

I have updated motherboard BIOS and rolled them back.

I have manually downloaded new drivers from Asus & AMD websites for 64-bit operating system: Windows 10 as well as let Windows install threw the auto up date program, and full system lockup/crashed are consistent; lock-up none blue screen.

Regenal and language match. tch

System says Window is activated.

Ran admin command prompt sfc /scannow with no errors.

On

my probably 13 fresh install config., would really like some insight into what might be happening to cause these system lockup issues, reading and posting on forms from my smart phone isn't the funest thing to do.

So what BIOS is on it now? Since its up to 2801

Look in event viewer, logs. See what that says

I think 2706, had to walk away getting the erg to lunch it. I was running 2801, it was one of the last thing I updated before the clean install attempt. If I can login with out it locking up I'll take a look at the events list.

Hey Fred,
It wasn't still waiting.

Was able to get it stable tho.
This is what I did for now.

Clean eased my ssd

Unplugged all USB and Sata devices

Removed my 2 PCIE GPUs

Left network plugged in.

Installed from boot usb

Let window format the drive, if you don't have a key select custom install to bypass

Let window load and update on its own,

Shut auto up date off after.

Shut down and install AMD GPUs

Booted installed latest drivers,

Shut down and reconnect all USB and SATA devices,

Booted manually installed drivers.

At each point I set a manual recovery point

I still can't install anything that changes the USB, LAN, or Bluetooth(kernel bluescreen crash) drivers how ever but it over clocked to 4.2 and getting good frame rates.

Hope this might get you threw until everyone hardware is happy with Windows 10.

Haven't tried it yet, if you are having the same problem with AMD,
I know Saphire have their own monitoring software you can turn the ULPS off, without touching the registry.

I had the same problems after doing a clean install of windows 10 from the iso and have spent most of the weekend trying to fix it. I then found a post on the AMD community forums mentioning the ulps function that my crossfire R9 290's use and describing the same lock up problems.
After installing windows 10 for the 8th time i did not connect to the internet but 1st installed the latest AMD R9 290 drivers. I then went into regedit and searched for EnableUlps and changed all values from 1 to 0. I also did the same with all entries of EnableUlps_NA aswell, change them from 1 to 0. Reebooted the pc and all has been ok since!
I then installed all motheroard drivers manually before setting up my internet connection and allowing other updates.
