144hz screen only being 60hz

Hello,

I have recently bought a new monitor, because i wanted 144hz, but i can't put it higher than 60hz.
I have a msi Z87-G43 gaming motherboard, and the monitor is a BenQ 24" LED RL2455HM.

I hope someone has a solution, to a guy who don't really know much about pc's

I don't remember, but shouldn't it atleast be more that 60?

Press right click on desktop --> screen resolution----> advanced and you should see in one of tabs refresh rate

I know, i can choose betwen: 25 hertz interlaced, 29 hertz interlaced, 30 hertz interlaced, 50 hertz, 59 hertz and 60 hertz. But i just thought there was a way to get more, for example 120hz or 144hz.

Well try in nvidia panel i assume or your graphics card just cant handle more than 60 my for example can 75hertz

That's a 60 Hz monitor. Overclocking can get you somewhere, but never to 144, or close to.

oh, ok. thanks, but do you have any recommendations for a not to exspensive 144hz monitor?
