hello all I just joined a couple of minutes ago I have been pondering what gpu to get that supports 4k, even though 1440p is my goal i wanted to know how can this be done? there are currently no adapters that support displayport to hdmi 2.0, but i wanted to know if hdmi 1.4 would work for 1440p at 60hz? I plan on future proofing my pc and the r9 290 is a great price but it doesnt natively support 4k or quadhd through hdmi, i want to eventually purchase a vizio p series 4k tv which supports 4k at 60hz i thought about picking up a 900 series nvidia gpu but the performance isnt up there with perfomance per dollar evn though they natively support hdmi 2.0 the 970 is to much money for me so the 960 would be the only option and i dont think it handles 1440p very well. there are adapters from display port to hdmi 1.4, which is why I was wondering about 1440p at 60hz through hdmi1.4

gpu budget well under $300 4gb at least
gpus i was looking at:
r9 290 4gb
r9 380 4gb
gtx 960 4gb
