Hi there,

I am in a bit of a pickle and I'm wondering if anyone here can give me some advice.

Currently using a GTX 770 and I'm looking to get a 144hz monitor. For my budget Ive decided to either go with either:

Acer XB270H-G (1080p / 144hz / GSYNC) AUD$729
or
BenQ XL2730Z (1440p / 144hz / FREESYNC) AUD$799

I know freesync wont work with a NVIDIA gpu but I'm thinking of possibly upgrading my GPU sometime in the near future anyways to support 1440p / 144hz (R9 3XX gpu)

Will it be worth it to buy the BenQ XL2730Z now and not make use of the FREESYNC technology and later on upgrade to a R9 3XX GPU to make use of it ?

Will an NVidia 770 run on the BenQ XL2730Z at 1440p / 144hz (just without freesync ?) or will there be compatibility issues ?

If they are not going to be compatible id just buy the Acer XB270H-G now and when I upgrade GPU ill upgrade to another NVidia (likely GTX970) card.

However if I can make use of 1440p / 144hz at the moment with the 770 without SYNC tech and upgrade to an AMD card later Ill go that route.

I'm in Australia and the Asus MG279Q costs AUD$999. Over my $700+ budget. $799 was already pushing it a little. Also, the Asus MG279Q is FREESYNC technology not G-SYNC
The prices I listed are in AUD ill edit it in main post.

You are right. I was focussed so much on US prices that I thought you were referring to the most expensive BenQ monitor, and when you mentioned freesync, I confused it with the other most expensive Asus monitor in the US, which is actually also freesync

I'm American, and I assume the answer is the same for all the previous empires, such as the Persian, Roman, Egyptian, etc. I've always assumed everyone on the Web is American because we created it. Kidding. The Brits invented it, but we've gone from a colony to basically owning them, so sort of true.

Ego centrism is a facet of all empires which currently dominate the world.

I'd wait until the Acer G-sync 144hz QHD competitors appear. Must be soon. Just asked when on a different post.
