Advice on best sound card + speakers - sub £200

Hi there,

I have a budget of £200 to upgrade my PC's sound. I would like to know which is the best sound card and set of speakers I can buy for that total. I use my PC to listen to music watch movies and TV programs and also to play games.
Any more info needed please ask.

What motherboard do you have, any free PCIe x1 slot? Or PCIe x4, x16?

Hi, I have an ASUS P8P67 LE motherboard.
I have 2 PCI slots free and 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (at x4 mode, compatible with PCI Express x1 and x4 devices).

Use the on board sound and put the money into the speakers.

Why do you say that? Is £200 not enough? Do you have any suggestions of speakers? 2.1, 5.1, 7.1?

JSC says that cos no it is not enough, not enough for both... anyway. save more moeny, and spend it on speakers, or even better headphones.
