I'm trying to connect three displays to my computer. I have a Sapphire Radeon HD7950 3G DDR5 with Boost graphics card. It has one dual link dvi-i, one single link dvi-d, one hdmi and one mini display port. I have one monitor connected with hdmi. Another one connected through the dvi-d.

However, when I connect an old monitor of mine with the dvi-i port using a dvi-i to vga adapter, I can't extend my desktop to it. It detects it just fine, but it won't let me extend my desktop to a third monitor without disabling another one in its place.

"To extend the desktop, a desktop or display must be disabled."

Wow, yeah... thanks. That kinda sucks, but I guess I can get an active adapter (edit: for the mini display port) to fix that.

Out of curiousity, do you have a link to anywhere in amd's website that states this?
