Using a new mobo (same model/type) on an old HDD?

Howdy.
Basically, I had to replace my old motherboard (Asus H61M-K) because of some damaged pins (my fault) in the CPU socket. Even though there were better options, I chose the same model.
Do I still have to format my HDD in order to run things smoothly or do I just need to reinstall my mobo's drivers?

Assuming you haven't damaged the cpu, it should be a plug and play replacement. The issue would not be with the hdd/drivers, it would be with windows not recognizing new hardware. Since you replaced your m/b with the same one, you should be good to go.
