Is it a good idea to build an AMD Radeon HD 6990 and AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-core together?

Hey folks!

I would like to see what you people think about building an AMD Radeon HD 6990 together with AMD Phenom 9550 quad-core? Both components are relatively old, but I don't know how well both of them would perform while playing (e.g. Battlefield 4, The Crew, GTA V) on 900p resolution? (1680x1050) to be precise.

I'm an amateur so I would like to learn a lot from your comments

While not in the top tier of speeds now, that combo should be able to play any game out there, although you may need to turn down settings in more demanding games at your resolution to get playable frames.
