Recording gameplay 720p on 1080p monitor?!?!

So basically i want a new monitor for gaming, now when i watch youtube videos most of the gameplays i watch are '720p 60fps'. how is this achived on a 1080p monitor.

i use mirillis action wich allows you to record at
720
1080
or "Original"

if someone could tell me how they upload cristal clear 720p videos when theyre using a 1080p monitor itd be great : )

The monitor has nothing to do with the resolution you record, just like having a 4 seat car does not mean that you are always driving around with 4 people.

You can run the game at 720p or when encoding the video resize it to 720p, although that won't be as sharp as just running the game at 720p.
