Hey guys, I am trying to build myself a new gaming desktop. I am a Digital Arts and Science major so I have to deal with a lot of graphics design, animation and all sorts of fun stuff regarding videogames. I also want to use it to play videogames so I am trying to use the top that is out so that I can create my stuff at school with no problems but also be able to play some of the latest games. My budget is about $1500 and so far the stuff I have gotten is close to $1250.
I need your help on checking if the stuff I am getting will be good and if they are compatible with each other, any suggestions on something better that I could use? Thank you so much guys

Graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-2974-KR 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($319.99 @ Newegg)

Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM ($87.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($238.99 @ Newegg) I was told ASRock is also good, thoughts?

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I74790K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 ($339.99 @ Newegg)

SSD: HyperX Savage SHSS37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg)

The rest of the stuff is a power supply of 500W and a couple other accessories. But these are the main ones im concerned about. Once again thank you for your help guys

I have the same graphics card. Just a warning...this card gets a little hot under loads and is known for coil whine(which I havent experienced myself).

Just make sure you have a case with good ventilation and you're all set! Since your budget is pretty high, I say an i7 is a perfect way to start and you might even consider getting a 980 or a simple corsair liquid cooling setup.

the power supply is also top tier, cpu cooler is very good and got you a 980 which is better than a 970 on the long run.
tried to keep it a black and red theme to make things look better. the case is good and I own one so i know its great. just need to buy some fans down the line later on.
