Dell Ultrasharp U2412M uniformity.

Is it normal for dell monitors or IPS to have not perfect uniformity? I just received another U2412M replacement today and it's free of pixel defects but the uniformity doesn't seem the best, quite a few shades darker on one side.

My 3 years old U2412M is excellent without any eye visible uniformity issues.
Uniformity is among usual IPS problem and belongs to RMA reasons.

I've set up the old U2412M next to the replacement U2412M with exactly the same custom colour profiles set and the colours are quite different between the two.
Now I'm unsure which one is displaying the correct colours and if it means one is displaying faulty colours. Need help..

The old one definitely has a yellowish tinge.

I have the Custom Color Mode, Calibrated Settings from the TFT Central U2412M Review applied to both monitors. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2412m.html

With these settings the new unit's colours look cooler than the old unit.

Use a microfiber cloth and massage the display. The issue you described sounds like clouding, if massaging the display doesn't help - RMA.

Do you mean on the old unit with the yellowish tinge or the new unit with the bluish tint? I Have read the TFT review closer and it does note that some of there custom profiles result in a blue tint which are related to the RGB levels, this probably explains what I'm seeing.

This is looking really good, colours look neutral and no blue tint.

I think this new unit is looking pretty good, still a little unsure about the uniformity but I think the profile has toned it down a bit.

I'm still not completely sure about this monitor, at this stage I'm unsure whether it's an actual monitor issue or calibration issue.
