Replacement CPU for HP compatible with any motherboard?

Hey, so I'm building myself a new pc from scratch and found a very cheap i5 4570 but it's a replacement CPU for an HP computer. So I was wondering if that CPU can be used on a normal motherboard or is it only compatible with HP motherboards.

Hi, It can be used on any motherboard that has the same LGA.

Yes (theoretically), provided it's the same socket type and the motherboard supports the generation of the CPU.

An i5-4570 in an HP system is identical to a retail CPU, but it probably won't include a cooler.
