Hi everyone,
I have an Asus sabertooth Z87 and a I7-2600K and two gtx770 . Is it a good move to upgrade mobo+cpu, ddr3->ddr4 to z170 or a better solution is to get a gtx980 or gtx980ti. My budget is the price of the gtx980ti around 750-800 cnd $ .

My display is a1440p

Thanks for your advice

Still looks like a very good build to me.:D

Can you overclock the cpu more? (~4.5ghz) Does that help performance? MIght look this way then.If you really want to upgrade would i probably look this way first.

I don't see how the upgrade from two of those gpu's will help when going to one of the other mentioned unless it's about Vram which could help with a bigger screensize.Could also help with eliminating sli,but if you don't have issues with that is there imo no need.Looking at performance would your current ones equal a gtx 980 and going from that to a gtx 980 ti is alot of money for ~10 fps extra.Depends on the games played too.

For some extra info,

for sli you can't really double the amount of fps from the gtx 770,but you can compare nevertheless.

You could benchmark your own system too.See how it does with one, after that with two gpu's and look at the differences. If not that big is the cpu probably a limiting factor. If adding let's say >75% should it be fine.Or look at the cpu and gpu usage, compare.

Monitor is 60hrz or 144hrz? With a 60hrz are you over 60fps in games? With settings you like. You should still be fine then.

I got a z87 with a i5 non k cpu with a 980ti . seems to do well for me .. you may gain some with a skylake but over all I don't see it in the cost to do so .. [new board -new cpu -new memory -ect...] for a few 100 points ??

maybe these results posted here can help some ??
