Sorry if I put this in the wrong category.
I'm trying to hook up my Xbox One to my computer monitor which has 1 VGA port and 1 Dual Link DVI-D port.

My question is, can I use a single link DVI-D cable into the Dual link DVI-D port? I would have to use a DVI-D male (single or dual link) to an HDMI Female adapter.

I only ask because I haven't been able to find a Dual Link DVI-D to HDMI adapter in any stores yet, but plenty of Single Link DVI-D to HDMI (other than online, but not really trying to wait, but if I must then I will)

As long as your monitor doesn't require a dual-link connection to function (some wqhd korean screens) you can use a single link cable. Most dual-link ports only have the extra pins for cable compatibility so that you can use either a dual or single link cable.

How would I go about knowing whether it requires dual-link connection or not?
