Dual monitor set-up

Hey guys I'm planning on building a PC. I have a question about connecting monitors. I'm planning to connect a 144hz 1080p monitor to my PC via DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.3. And a 60hz 1080p monitor as a secondary via HDMI 2.0. Will this work with my GTX 980 ti? Can I connect one monitor via DisplayPort and one via HDMI? Also what should I go with, DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.3? I will be gaming on the monitor that I plan on using DisplayPort with.

It will work fine the 980 will support 4 monitors. Either cable should be fine for 1080p @ 144hz.
