Hello Tom's Hardware community.
Question...
- I have 2x4GB Hyper Fury X Ram sticks installed supposedly able to run 1866.
- I just purchased 2x8GB EVGA Ram sticks that I installed that supposedly run 2400.
So I have 24 GB of Ram altogether, of course default clocked at 1333 at the moment.
CPU-Z says I'm running a dual channel, at 799.5 to be exact.

My system I'm running is:
CPU : i5-4690k stock
MOBO: Asus Z97-AR
GPU: NVidia GTX 970 SSC Super Super clocked
Coolant: Hyper EVO 212

My question is would it be beneficial to take out the 2x4 ram, and run my XMP profile to utilize the 2400 MHz of 16 GB Ram? I've done some research, and ram speed, I suppose with what I work with which is gaming, doesn't really make a difference.

I tried running the XMP profile with the 2 different set Rams', it said it would run at 2400 MHz, but I was thinking it would down clock it to 1866 because of the Hyper Fury X, but it blue screened, so I took XMP off and it works fine. Hmm...... I tried the 2x8 by itself with XMP, but I didn't really see a difference, even though I only did it for 5 minutes until my OCD kicked in only seeing the 16GB of ram. LoL, anyways, sorry for the ramble just looking for some intelligent opinions.

I ended up taking the Fury Ram out, and XMP'ing. It was running fine with them all running at 1333, but might as well utilize the 2400. ;) It's not like I video edit or anything of that sort.
