I recently upgraded to win 10 and I'm permanently stuck at 1280 x 720 and I cant figure out why. Ive uninstalled all the old Nvidia driver and did a clean install of the win10 driver and it even says that I'm using 1920x1080 but its not, still 1280 x 720... anyone else have this issue? I feel like ive been on google looking for a solution for hours now and need the computer gods help at this point. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Try going to the control panel
>> Appearance and Personalization
>> Display
>> Screen Resolution
>> Click on Advanced settings
>> Then click on List all modes

You should be able to select the correct resolution there.

Otherwise try to perform a clean installation of your graphic's driver, this should enable you to change your screen resolution.

You may try as well this short Youtube guide;

Hope this helps.

Where does it say it's set at 1080p? And what makes you think it appears still in 720p? Does the monitor/TV report back? This is an unusual problem and normally when either Windows resolution or GPU control panel says a certain resolution, it shouldn't lie.

When I look at the display options in windows it says 1080p native but everything is huge and not not like it used to be when I had 7 and when I tested the resolution it said it was not 1080

That sounds like icon size or DPI settings, can adjust that just like in Win7. Give that a go and see if you get some familiarization. It is in 1080p i believe, just the icons are bigger :)

I wouldn't worry about DPI, its not something that would need effort in changing, try making the icons smaller.:
