Windows 10 taking 2-4 minutes to shutdown while screen is Black.

Hi as the title says plus that was happening with windows 8 too (both clean installations).
My rig is

m/b: GA-Z87-D3HP
cpu: i5-4570
gpu: r9 270x DirectCU2 asus
using WD blue caviar 7200 RPM

In detail sometimes, not always, I shut down pc and then my pc stays with blank screen and still working... After 2-3 minutes or more then it finally shuts. Is that normal? Or some hardware problem?

#Update 1: I found that when this occurs I get from event viewer kernel error 41 : The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

mine has done the same for some time now but the HDD light on my case goes spaz for 1-2 mins then shuts down. do you have an SSD or HDD?

No,it is not normal. Windows will ask for permission and wait for services to shutdown and save data. This can cause delays. To figure out what windows is waiting for you want to enable verbose status messages.

It will be the HDD it will write down what ever is in the ram so it will be writing cached files updating applications/logs closing applications, stopping processes. What sort of HDD is it?

I had a similar problem on my Windows 7 PC and on Windows 10. I remembered that I had tweaked my Windows 7 system and found an article and re-tweaked my Win 10 system as well. So far I have not detected any problems as a result of these tweaks so you may want to give them a try. Here's the link to the article.
