So I got a Dell XPS8700 with a GTX745 OEM 4GB... and I've been reading that many say that the 750Ti performs much better hands down. Now I don't know much about GFX cards except what I learned when purchasing the pc... some basic stuff.

So why this card performs better than the 745, wouldn't having twice the memory make up for some differences (if any)?

*looking to learn some useful things here nothing more!

Well, while the 750ti is better than your current GTX 745, the performance increase for price really isn't that much better.

If you would be able to, I would upgrade to something that upgrade the performance drastically, like the GTX 960/970. a GTX 950 wouldn't be too shabby either if you're on a strict budget.

If you were to upgrade to a GTX960/970, I believe you would have to upgrade your Power Supply if it didn't come with 2 6 pin connectors. You may want to upgrade anyway just to make sure it can power everything.

If you want more information, this guy's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18IZYQKijMA

is very informative on the topic, he also has experience with the Dell XPS8700 so I think this guy knows what he's talking about.
