System security was someone on my pc while i was out

i turned on my computer and it went into repair mode, and what im wondering is how it went into repair mode before the veracrypt authentication screen

If windows detects an issue with the OS file tables or boot partition, it will automatically enter repair mode in some cases. It's doubtful to be a result of any malicious intent from an outside source.
