But there are websites calculating power supply required for pc. I tried them and the result with hd 5450 is 174 watt. But with gt 610 is 186 watt which is more than my current psu. I was thinking weather it will affect my pc or can i try it. Thnx for the reply.

You can try it. But if you start getting shut downs or re-boots, it will no doubt be caused by the PSU unable to keep up. The worse case scenario is the PSU dies a catastrophic death and takes out something else with it. But that is somewhat less likely if the PSU is good quality. I would assume HP used good quality PSUs.

The other thing to consider is the fact that most PSUs are only ~80 efficient. You will be using the PSU beyond its design threshold. You would be better off to look into the newer, lower wattage GT 720. It only requires 19W of power and out performs both the GT 610 and the HD 5450.
