So I am looking at monitors and I found one that does 120hz. Problem is that my laptop only have an hdmi output and the monitor can only use dvi-d and displayport. I did some searching and found out that someone got theirs to run 120hz when using an hdmi 1.4b to dvi-d adapter. I am wondering if that would work as my laptop can run with 1.4b and am also wondering where I could find one online as no hdmi to dvi-d cables specifically state that it is 1.4b.

To be clear, my laptop can run csgo at over 200 fps which is what i would like 120 hz for. I have been getting conflicting results regarding this issue.

I found this: http://www.amazon.com/KabelDirekt-feet-Cable-Highspeed-...

Would this work? thanks!

hdmi will limit you to 60hz at 1080p. arent you curious why all monitor manufacturers offer 1080p 120/144hz support or above only through dvi dual link or display port? hdmi is widely used on tvs and other multimedia devices but currently no tv has 1080p 120hz abilty at 2D yet. things however will change in favor of hdmi. version 2.0 is already avaliable on latest nvidia gpu and some 4k tv exceeding these limitations.!
