can't watch videos on computer

hey all! yesterday my computer stopped being able to play video's, thought it was just youtube but it's every site i go to. i use google chrome but it also effects ms edge. i've reset the router, cleared cookies and cache, rebooted computer and now i'm just confused! any ideas!? thanks. oh and it's windows 10 and i'm fully updated.

get wise cleaner 365 and let it tune up your system, I had the same issue (green screens on videos) and it fixed it.

Try reinstalling the gpu driver. I'm against installing or running unnecessary software.

it's an intel i5 based laptop. if that makes a difference

It does not. Any gpu has a driver, either integrated or discrete. Drivers can be downloaded off the intel site and don't forget to use ddu.
