Power on PC and monitor goes directly to sleep mode?

I noticed this happening more in the last week. I've had W10-64 bit since release so I'm not a new install. Custom built PC also in March.

For the last few days I noticed when turning the PC on(switch from the back then power button) for the day the monitor just goes straight to sleep mode. I hit the restart button and it wakes the display fine and starts as normal, albeit a bit slower to load desktop. It's connected to R9 280 with DVI

Odd times I also noticed when I put it to sleep and want to wake it the PC will restart itself

Is this unique to me or are the Windows updates in the last two weeks or so to blame? Thanks

I also noticed sometimes when waking from sleep the message like "amd display driver stopped and has recovered" this wasn't happening in W8.1
