Looking to build a quadcopter

From a kit?
Completely from scratch? How far 'from scratch' do you want to go? Injection molding your own props?
What size? What carrying capacity?
Does it need a camera? Does it need 2 cameras (front and down?)
GPS?
What type of controller? Standard 2 joystick RF, or WiFi from your tablet?
Does the camera need to beam realtime to your tablety thing? Or just save to an SD card for later use.
What flight time are you looking at? What distance?

There are a zillion resources in the RC aircraft community.

not looking to do any camera work. just a simple quadcopter.

no camera needed. standard 2 joystick RF. flight time and distance, doesn't matter at this point. just need a quadcopter that I can build from parts. How far from scratch? definitely not injection molding. just where I can put it together myself and have it fly around a little bit. from a kit would be nice, since it would most likely come with instructions. don't care about how much assembly is required. this is just a stepping stone in learning about quadcopters and arduino.
