i don't really think i explained it really well. when i said square shaped monitors, i don't mean SQUARE, like back in 2005.
what i mean is, i already got an lg 23 inches, but it looks smaller if you place it near a 21" widescreen monitor.
I hope that helps. So, is the aoc screen that widescreen i want?

1920x1080 is a 16x9 resolution and 16x9 is defined as widescreen. 4x3 is called full screen and probably what you mean by "square shaped" monitors such as many CRT and early LCD displays. 1920x1080 is not the widest these days, but it is still widescreen and it is very common.

Yes, that display you linked is widescreen.

From the AOC product page:
1920 x 1080 Full HD

Yes, this is AOC is a wide-screen (16:9 ratio), but what is the model of your LG.

Could you be talking about a wide-screen (16:9) vs an ultra-wide (21:9)?

That's a wide screen monitor. It has a native resolution of 1920x1080 or an aspect ratio of 16:9. Wide screen displays typically have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 16:10 (meaning 16 horizontal units and 9 or 10 vertical units). More square displays will have a aspect ratio of 4:3 or 5:4.
