My new BENQ monitor arrived but when i plug in my hdmi cable from the GPU to Monitor it says no cable connected on screen ?

Specs : BENQ GL2450 , MSI R9 380 , G3258 , MSI PC MATE LGA1150 Z97 , 1866 MHZ RAM

The new monitor arrived and it wont out put any signal , all it says is " no cable connected " any idea whats going on ?

This may be a stupid question but have you selected HDMI on the monitors input menu.

Locate the buttons which are on the back of your monitor at the right hand side of the bezel.
Press one of the buttons and a list will appear.
Select input (second button down from the top).
Select HDMI then press the button that coresponds to the blue tick and you should be good to go.
