Do I need a 120hz or 144hz gaming monitor??

I am building a new gaming PC for the first time and was wondering if I need a 120hz or 144hz monitor or would 60hz be sufficient enough
How much of a difference does it make having a 60hz monitor vs a 144hz monitor?

Depends on your PC's specs. 120hz and 144hz monitors are pretty sweet, but if your PC can't crank out those levels of FPS, it's a waste.

You can run a 144hz monitor on that, unless you're only going to be running only very new AAA titles at ultra levels. You will have the best performance if you make sure and buy a monitor that supports FreeSync as it does a lot to alleviate screen tearing.
