Hey Everyone!

I'm looking to update my 2 year old rig around May next year (the time when I should have the money). On this build, I don't want to mess around and I will go all out, as it could be my last gaming pc before I start a career after years in higher education.

I want to achieve more than 60fps while playing 1440p at 144hz. I looked at benchmarks, and a single GTX 980 ti didn't seem to cut the mustard for what I want. From your experiences, does a single 980 ti do great for 1440p at 144hz? Or, should I have 2 GTX 980 tis in SLI for that resolution?

I am also worried about the timing of my build in Spring of 2016. By that time, the Pascal might be coming out soon and I could just wait for that. Should I just wait for Pascal at that point?

Thanks!

Wait it out and see what kind of performance bump we get, especially if it really is may you're talking about. One 980ti runs 1440P great for 60hz or 75-100hz and 144hz with g sync would run fine but without g sync you'd probably want 2 980 ti's to get your fps closer to refresh rate than one.
