Parts usually always gets more profit but it's harder to sell piece by piece. Usually have to wait a while, especially if you do local like craigslist/kijiji sales. Then you end up with some stuff left over.

^yeah take that price and slash by a good margin, just like when you drive a car off the lot, even if in great condition parts go for a lot less on the used market.

The only problem with the pcpartpicker plan is that some things aren't "for sale" on pcpartpicker.. It basically just doesn't give a price for a certain part. You might just have to find that part and record the price. Luckily pcpartpicker has a manual price entry.
