Hi!

Im trying to install Windows 10 and Kali linux on my MSI GT70-2PC laptop

I have currently installed 2 SSD in it, andi have tried to install both OS’s, but i always seem to overwrite the bootloader of the other OS. Im not that familiar with grub yet so i dont know to which drive to install it to. Can anyone help?

GT70-PC2

Crucial MX100 256GB SSD
Samsung EVO 120GB SSD

JQB45 is correct, if you want to have both OS's available from a boot loader you'll need to install Windows first.

I personally prefer my Kali drive to be TOTALLY removed from Windows, boot loader included. To do this you install each OS individually with only one drive plugged in at a time. From there you can select which drive you want to boot with from the BIOS.

I tried doing that, and installing grub on the drive where kali was installed, and the windows bootloader still got corrupted somehow. i didnt disconnect the windows drive tho

So even if you dont touch the windows drive in the kali installation, it still messes with the windows bootloader?
