Error code: 0xC004C003 After switching motherboards

Just upgraded to an MSI 970 motherboard and now windows 10 pro is giving me an activation error code along with a water mark in the right corner.
I did the free upgrade from windows 8.1 pro to windows 10 pro back in late August.

Do I have to revert back to 8.1 pro now? Thought windows 10 was free for a year.

If you change out your motherboard your current Windows Key becomes invalid. The best thing to do is to get in contact with Windows Support and see if they can unflag your current key for you.

Went and contacted a Microsoft tech. like you said, glamdringfh. They resolved they issue for me via live chat and remote desktop access.
