Vprotect application stopped working Desktop wallpaper changed automatically

Hello,

I have a bit of a problem and am quite concerned.

I turned my Laptop on today, and there was an entirely new desktop wallpaper!? Its windows 8, and I have not touched any of its weird settings.

Also there was a message on the screen "Vprotect application stopped working"

To the bottom right there was a warning message from the toolbar by the clock saying something about profile access and files and folders.

I restarted the machine and then everything was back to normal?!

I am rather concerned about this as with all the fraud around today.

What exactly has happened?

Sounds like you installed malware on your computer. Go and buy a proper anti-virus solution (bitdefender, kaperskey, norton etc) at a trusted website or store (newegg, amazon (but not market), best buy, etc) and scan your system.
