Skyrim lag with a good computer

Skyrim is getting only about 10 fps in most areas, even though I have a good computer with a GTX 960 4gb, 16 gb of ram, and an Intel i7-4790 4.0 GHz cpu. The only mods I have are ones that let me use realvision enb, but on realvision's Nexus page it states that i should be getting 40 - 60 fps with a GTX 660.

Is there some fix or setting that I am missing?

The GTX 960 is not that great of a video card. You have to check out your settings in the game and adjust them.

The 960 isn't amazing but its not the reason he's getting 10 fps. Something else going on....

My core temperature reach a max of about 35 degrees C.

I do have the latest drivers, and according to hardware monitor my gpu reaches a max of 74 C when loading my save and running around.

Have you tried running it vanilla and see if its the mod or the rig? Do you play any other games?

I can play other games like Elite Dangerous without lag, if I remember correctly,on the max settings.

I got my current computer a few months ago, my old one was an alienware x51 with what i think was a gt 460 and I was able to play skyrim with many graphics mods like lush trees ang grass, including an enb with an fps of about 30.

I was expecting a large increase in fps when I upgraded to this computer, but it has stayed at about 10 fps even as I removed the other graphics mods.

Sounds like the mod and your rig aren't getting along then try removing it, see if thst helps. Then you can always try putting it back in maybe the install hiccuped somewhere

Sorry, this might have a really simple answer, but how do I uninstall enbseries after putting the wrapper files in my skyrim folder?

Need someone else for that I don't play skyrim, you can always just move entire game folder to a USB drive or something, then install vanilla and see if it works

If I just replace realvision with another enb called seasons of skyrim I get even worse fps, so I guess it isn't just that mods fault, but I will try what you suggested.
