I have a Samsung SyncMaster S22B150 that is over 3 years old now. When I first got it, it was good and I just wanted it for general PC usage. Now times have changed and I built my own PC beginning of the year and recently started to play games on it and just looking for an upgrade to go along with the new PC I have.

1. Budget;
I would say the max I would spend on a new monitor would be around £200(at a push) and something that's going to look good not just for gaming but for overall use too.

2. Seating distance
I sit about 3 feet away from my monitor but somtimes lean forward when gaming. So 2/3 feet away.

3. Size/placement limitations
This would be in my bedroom on a desk with my PC to the right, my TV monitor on a stand with the Xbox one below it. I'm looking for a 20"-24" monitor.

4. Uses and sources
Mainly used for gaming but would like it to be used for watching movies, streams, youtube videos, and other general things.

5. Room lighting
My room is blue, with blue curtains and white ceiling, so in the day time I get a good amount of light into the room with the window to the right of me brings in a lot of light, i sometimes have to close one of the curtains to shield from the light. At night when the lights are on the room is bright but not too bright.

Other: I just want something within my budget that is going to be way way better than what i currently have and something which has DVI output and maybe HDMI.

Hopefully that's enough information.

Thanks for the help!

That symbol is Pounds not Euros. Also it isn't a direct conversion. The prices in the UK generally roughly match the US figure in Pounds. Though in this case the UK price for that monitor is well under budget:

Here is a 27" monitor, more suited to gaming, not the best color (but it does have every video input and a camera)

Here is a good general use 27" monitor:

I should probably say I am most familiar with ASUS monitors. Samsung, BenQ, LG, and the higher end Acer monitors are also...

TFTcentral.com is a good place for monitor reviews (though they can get a bit technical)
